The call comes as Business NSW launches a digital advertising campaign, reminding people of the need to get vaccinated so they can go back to enjoying their lifestyle.
“The ads will start to appear on social media channels from today. It’s pretty clear the only way out of this is to reach those 70 and 80 per cent fully vaccinated targets,” said Business NSW Chief Executive Daniel Hunter.
“Our ad features real small business owners – all willing to put their hand up and be involved in the campaign which reminds people about the importance of local small businesses, and what they’ve missed during lockdown,” Mr Hunter said.
“We’ve got to remember there are so many businesses shut right now, not trading, not getting any revenue, which still have to pay staff and overheads.
“We need to get them opened up and we need to get people out having fun again.
“The NSW Government is aiming to release its roadmap to reopening shortly and it will be crucial to see what rules will be put in place for businesses to operate under.
“It also needs to be made as easy as possible for businesses to re-open and welcome customers back in a Covid Safe way.
“Business NSW has been pushing the case for a staged reopening for fully vaccinated staff and customers in low risk areas and industries. This will get money and jobs flowing again.
“As the Government repeatedly says, the key to getting our lives back is to get vaccinated as quickly as possible,” Mr Hunter said.
