Ms Watson was elected unopposed at a meeting of the General Council and will serve in the role for two years. Ms Watson becomes the first female to serve as President of ACCI.

“Nola Watson is a tremendous leader, and the Australian Chamber is lucky to have her as its President,” said Business NSW President Lyall Gorman.

“Nola has served on the Board here in NSW for almost a decade, is a former President of our organisation, and served as interim Chief Executive of Business NSW during 2020 and the early part of this year,” Mr Gorman said.

“It’s an incredibly important time for the national Chamber of Commerce movement, as business looks to ensure its voice is heard in a united and cohesive way as we approach a Federal Election, while still dealing with the economic and social impacts of the pandemic.

“Everyone who has a dealing with Nola is struck by her thorough attention to detail, her capacity to distil complex information and her clear decision making.

“My fellow Directors, the staff, and members of Business NSW wish Nola every success in her new role and look forward to providing any support she needs,” Mr Gorman said.
