Business NSW has had a very busy year implementing our strategy to provide new levels of engagement and opportunity for our members in international trade.

India has been our priority and this has included participation in a number of senior industry and political roundtables and the establishment of a Business NSW India Series 2024 with the first seminar to be held on 20 March 2024.

On 12 March 2024 we also signed an MOU with the NSW Department of Department of Enterprise, Investment and Trade and India's National Association of Software and Services Companies that take up tenancy in the newly established Sydney Start Up Hubs International Landing Pad facility.

This innovative Landing Pad and Business NSW delivered Concierge programme is a unique approach that will deliver a ‘feet on the street’ capability for companies of both markets to engage.

Under this MOU Business NSW’s role is to fast track the establishment of their businesses, provide them networking opportunities with our members across NSW and help them with their Australian business market entry strategy.

Finally, we have expressed interest to the NSW Government to provide a business delegation to India in the second half of the year and this is under consideration.

In addition, recently Business NSW has delivered ‘inbound services ‘support to visiting international senior delegations and dignitaries from Lithuania, Vietnam, the Czech Republic, Turkey and Latvia. All these markets are enthusiastic about working with our members to create a mutually beneficial environment for increasing business to business engagement.

We expect interest in Business NSW from international markets to continue to grow and we will develop our capability throughout 2024 to become the ‘preferred supplier’ of these inbound services to international agencies and Embassies in Australia seeking advice and support.

Finally in conjunction with an interested group of very senior Arbitration Law experts we have proposed to the NSW Government an economic development concept based on a next generation ‘Sydney Legal Services Hub’ that would attract global talent and expertise in international law, legal technology and legal education.

All up our profile in supporting two-way international trade and economic prosperity for NSW continues to build and our aim is to become ‘the first among equals ‘ in the delivery of these services.
