“Being elected to public office, and then to the ultimate position in this country is something he should be immensely proud of, and I join with Australians in wishing him all the best,” said Business NSW Chief Executive Daniel Hunter.

The electorate sent a clear message last night, and Business NSW will continue to work with MPs on policy development and execution that delivers for all Australians.

“Being born and raised in Sydney, Mr Albanese knows all too well the character and identity of Australia’s truly global city, and I look forward to working with him on the challenges and opportunities that are ahead of us,” Mr Hunter said.

“A strong and vibrant NSW is the best thing for the national economy.

“It’s also important I acknowledge the work of outgoing Prime Minister Scott Morrison, who led the country through some of its darkest days since the War.

“Mr Morrison can look back on his time as Prime Minister with a great amount of satisfaction at the work he and his team delivered, with special mention to his Government’s JobKeeper Program which helped keep Australians in jobs and supported businesses affected by the significant economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The electorate sent a clear message last night, and Business NSW will continue to work with Members of Parliament of all persuasions on policy development and execution that delivers for all Australians.

“Mr Albanese signaled his intention to get straight to work by representing Australia at the QUAD Summit on Tuesday, and we all know there’s no time to waste on critical matters such as economic stability and the skills gap that require immediate focus,” Mr Hunter said.
