“The expansion of alfresco dining and extra Dine and Discover vouchers will help unlock the energy of the NSW visitor economy and support tourism make up ground lost due to lockdown,” said NSW Tourism Industry Council Executive Manager Greg Binskin.

“With vaccination rates across NSW approaching the 80% mark, it’s time to roll out the welcome mat and be ready for the arrival of visitors armed with new Dine & Discover vouchers to spend on local food, drinks and experiences,” Mr Binskin said.

“As summer approaches, consumers will be looking to enjoy the great outdoors by dining alfresco and additional outdoor dining will help our businesses to make the most of this opportunity.

“This will in turn encourage more visitor spending, providing social and economic benefits to all those towns and villages who rely on tourism as a main income.

“These new alfresco dining options could permanently change the face of dining precincts, increase the capacity of businesses to safely serve more customers.

“Now is the time for Sydney and Regional NSW destinations to get ready to service the pent-up demand as travel restrictions ease.

“We need to show our fellow NSW residents that the visitor economy is #backtobusiness and ready to welcome visitors from all across the state,” Mr Binskin said.
