"The news that Sydney will soon open its doors to fully vaccinated international visitors and returning Australians is a great boost to our tourism sector and will significantly help our recovery from the pandemic," said NSW Tourism Industry Council Executive Manager Greg Binskin.

“With summer almost upon us and increasing vaccination rates across NSW, it’s time to dust off the welcome mat for high-yielding international visitors and international students,” Mr Binskin said.

“Sydney and regional NSW destinations can prepare now for the pent-up demand created by the travel restrictions and border closures.

“International visitors are looking to reconnect with family and friends, and enjoy the wide range of experiences as have on offer throughout our state.

“The recently announced NSW Roadmap has set the scene for recovery and the Commonwealth Government’s decision to bring forward the reopening of international travel is what we’ve been waiting for over the last 18 months.

“Now is the time to re-engage staff, dust off the COVID Safe plans and put on that warm, welcoming smile.

“We need to show the world that Sydney and NSW is #backtobusiness, exceed customers’ expectations and use their digital foot-print to spread the word about all the great things we have to offer,” Mr Binskin said.
