About this Submission

NSW is reviewing the reliability standards for electricity networks, including considering whether to bring them in line with national standards and how to respond to the potential for greater incidences of weather-driven disruption resulting from climate change.

Business NSW’s submission emphasises the need to understand the variety of different businesses' needs in this area, and argues that any changes to standards should be driven by deeper engagement with networks' users – customers. Increased reliability standards will come at a price, and networks should determine whether their users are willing to pay that price.
