About this Submission

The NSW Business Chamber (the Chamber) welcomes the opportunity to provide a submission to the Review of the Personal Property Securities Act (2009). Although the Chamber does support a national legal regime and single register for personal property interests, the substance of the Personal Property Securities Act (2009) (the PPS Act) and Personal Property Security Register (the PPS Register) puts legal rights over property at odds with the way that businesses have traditionally understood ownership.
